The Biography Of Don Jazzy, Full Profile, Life History, Music And Endorsement Deals – This is the biography of Michael Collins Ajereh also known as Don Jazzy was born on the 26th of November 1982. Don Jazzy is a Nigerian Multiple award winning record producer, he is also a singer songwriter, musician and the former CEO of Mo’ Hits Records which was founded in 2004. Don Jazzy is current CEO of Mavin Records, which was founded in 2012 after a bitter splitting of former record label. Don Jazzy was born in Umuahia the capital of Abia state, south east Nigeria, Don Jazzy’s first signing was D’banj who was also the Vice-President of Mo’ Hits record label. Don Jazzy’s first full successful and recognizable production work was in 2004 as he helped produce D’banj’s first single “Tongolo”. Don Jazzy went on to produce the album that followed titled “No Long Thing” as was released in 2005. Don Jazzy has successfully produced songs for his signees such as Dr SID, D’Prince, Wande Coal and even other artist who are not under his label, like Darey art, Naeto C, Sauce Kid, Olakunle Excel et Zanga, Ikechukwu and then Tiwa Savage. He co produced the Jay-Z and Kanye West song “Lift Off” that also featured Beyoncé on the album “Watch The Throne” which was released 8th of August 2011. Forbes recently rated Don Jazzy as the 36th “Most powerful celebrity in Africa”. Early Days Of Don Jazzy’s life Michael Collins Ajereh AKA Don Jazzy was born in Umuahia, but he hails from Delta state. He and his family relocated to Lagos state and to Ajegunle city precisely where he grew up, and he eventually schooled and graduated from Federal Government College Lagos. He first fell in love with act of playing the drums and also singing at age four. He got introduced to bass guitar at the age of 12 as he developed a passion for it, Jazzy studied Business Management at Ambrose Alli University in Ekpoma, Edo state. He then moved to the United Kingdom in the year 2000 when his uncle invited him over to come play drums for their neighborhood Church. To make ends meet, Don Jazzy did some odd jobs like working at McDonalds and as “may Guard” security guard. He further developed his musical skills having teamed up with fellow kindred likes Solek, Kas, JJC, The 419 squad and then D’Banj. Jazzy’s appetite for success in music made him and former partner move down to Nigeria to begin a full time career in music and in 2004, he partnered with D’Banj and they established the Mo’ Hits label. It only took hi, two year to become a prolific music producer having wrapped up the following two albums “No Long Thing” and “Rundown/Funk You Up”. By this time Don Jazzy had already become a household name and had trademark song intro “It’s Don Jazzy Again”. He got the production credits for “best selling album of that year” in 2008 for D’banj’s “The Entertainer”, he did the same with Wande Coal’s debut album “Mushin 2 MoHits”, an album that has been described as one of the best albums ever produced in Nigeria. Don Jazzy’s Voice texture, His fashion and also social networking Though he is not recognized as a recording artist, he is however, responsible for most Background Vocals in the songs he produces for his artist and most times you’ll get a complete verse from him. This could be heard through his beats and vocal assists to the likes of D’Banj, Dr SID, Sauce Kid, Kween, D’Prince, Ikechukwu and for even Jay-Z and Kanye West on the track Lift Off that also features Beyoncé. Don Jazzy is a constant social network user with Twitter being his top site where he expresses himself the most. He has over 200K followers on twitter, Don Jazzy barely talk much on interviews but he does know how to give birthday shout outs to fans, he also gives out airtime recharge cards and iPads, sometimes he goes as far as giving out money via Twitter. Music and the end of Mo’Hits Dom Jazzy got noticed by Kanye West in 2011 and then signed him as of the producer on his GOOD Music label. A video showing the signing of the contract surfaced online, and Kanye West surprisingly made a surprise appearance at the MO’ Hits Koko Concert in London, this was to officially support and also welcome D’Banj to GOOD music with his chain.
